Using Chart Drill

By using Chart Drill (the app, the site, and its content) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Chart Drill is free and currently a public beta: features and lessons can change, and the service may be paused or withdrawn at any time.

Educational only — not financial advice

Everything in Chart Drill is general education about reading price charts. It is not investment, financial, trading, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, currency, commodity, cryptocurrency, or other instrument. Nothing here takes your personal situation into account. The charts and examples are invented to illustrate ideas; they are not real market data.

Trading and investing involve substantial risk, including the loss of the money you put in. Past patterns do not predict future prices. Reading a candle well does not tell you what happens next. Any decision to trade is yours alone, made at your own risk, and you should consider talking to a licensed professional first.

No warranty

Chart Drill is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Lesson content may contain mistakes; tell us through the feedback form and we will fix them.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chart Drill and its creator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content, including trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid to use Chart Drill, which is nothing.

Content and intellectual property

The lessons, charts, mascot, artwork, and code are original work owned by Chart Drill’s creator, except third-party components used under their own licences. You may use the content for your own personal learning. Please do not copy, sell, or republish it without permission. Candlestick pattern names and the general ideas they describe are common knowledge and belong to no one.

Feedback

If you send suggestions through the feedback form, you agree we may use them to improve Chart Drill without any obligation to you.

Privacy

How the app handles data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you use Chart Drill from elsewhere, you are responsible for following your local laws, and nothing here removes protections your local consumer law gives you that cannot be waived.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use Chart Drill after a change means you accept the new terms.
